Cold
A ripple for every moment

Frigid sky scattered here and there. Shadows watch mountains who are not easily scared. Snowflakes fall as time stands still, while sun's warmth trembles under the treacherous chill. Depths run thin as the ice grows, and blue meets white in the blue shallow. Everything covered perfectly in a blanket, one that is cold and doesn't need to fake it.

Worry

November 25th, 2011

Worrying is an exhaustive feeling. It's amazing how this single feeling can chisel away at confidence and self-esteem. Consuming time while twisting your gastrointestinal tract, it truly is a horen.....

A Living Model

September 28th, 2011

Ever since I was a little kid, hummingbirds have always been so elusive. Their mysterious nature makes them almost mythical. I never really saw a hummingbird growing up, even though my mom did.....

A Holiday Is On Its Way

It's amazing how time flies. I've been in my apartment for a year and a half already, been working as a veterinarian almost as long, and now I'm looking at houses. Life outside of school seems to e.....

Off Guard

March 8th, 2009

Over the past couple years, I've developed strong opinions about worship. And over the last several weeks they have been obliterated. Looking back on these ideas about God and church, I've realized.....

I've spent the last several months working my way through a book called, "The Irresistible Revolution." Finding time to read is difficult with my schedule, but this necessary escape helps release m.....

New Year - 2009

January 4th, 2009

As this new year rolls into gear, I figured I better write down some New Year Resolutions. Otherwise, I probably won't write down any goals for the year. Living on my own this year, these resolutio.....

Confidence

October 2nd, 2008

Julius, a good friend of mine, asked me a question the other day. What makes you confident?

The question caught me off guard. I didn't have a good answer, in fact I didn't have an an.....

Confessions

May 11th, 2008

I spent Mother's Day morning walking. I needed to be alone. I walked to Colby Lake. The changes in the trees and the air was nothing short of heavenly. I listened as the wind weaved in and out of t.....

Baptism

March 6th, 2008

I'm quite confident that the majority of people have witnessed a baptism or have been baptized. I was baptized in the Catholic Church. Growing up in the Catholic Church I had the privelege to obser.....

Do Not Worry

August 13th, 2007

Easier said than done. I worry on a daily basis. For example, the past week I've almost hit two pedestrians on the street. One was a bicyclist, who was not wearing the correct reflective clothing f.....

October 24th, 2006

The last few weeks life has been out of control. Everything is out of my control, and that is okay.

When are we ever truly in control? We aren't, we never were and never will be.

One of.....

Prodigal Son
