Cold
A ripple for every moment

Frigid sky scattered here and there. Shadows watch mountains who are not easily scared. Snowflakes fall as time stands still, while sun's warmth trembles under the treacherous chill. Depths run thin as the ice grows, and blue meets white in the blue shallow. Everything covered perfectly in a blanket, one that is cold and doesn't need to fake it.

A New Camera

Wave 983

Wednesday

The 21st of September, 2011 at 12:37 PM

At Sonshine Music Festival this year, there was a bad storm the first night. Kellie and I braved the bad weather in our tent that night. We made it through the night (obviously) but when we woke up we were literally laying in puddles of water. A puddle somehow found its way to the middle of the tent where my point-and-shoot camera was laying. It was in a pants pocket but it really needed a wet suit because it was completely submerged.

Over the next 2 days I was able to get the majority of water out of it but the camera screen was shot and it would not take any pictures.

I spent a month researching cameras, reading reviews, and evaluating my spending situation. I made a very conscious decision to purchase a Canon Rebel T3i.

I bought a telephoto lens at the same time and saved a butt load of money through Amazon.com.

After forever and a day, the camera arrived.

It is amazing.

I now spend quite a bit of my free time reading about photography and photography techniques. I always loved photography and I feel this camera will give me everything for this passion.

Now that I will be taking awesome pictures I am considering renovating blueshallow. Right now I have 4 websites that I'm designing/maintaining. I need to be careful how much water I'm treading, I don't want to sink in endless responsibility.

Stay tuned either way...

I love redesigns, but finishing them is a _bear_.  I’m excited to see what you come up with!  That said, consider the alternative: I’ve always found it easier to make myself be happy with the current design rather than re-coding/designing... it always takes between 4 and 5 times as long as I think it will :)

It’s crazy isn’t it? I remember way back to TI Chip and how far our design skills have come. To whopping visual overload to simplicity. The only part of this site that I’m even considering remodeling right now is the photography section. I want a simple way of displaying the pictures that does not drag down loading times. You know what I’m talking about. Anyways, thanks for the reminder :)
