Cold
A ripple for every moment

Frigid sky scattered here and there. Shadows watch mountains who are not easily scared. Snowflakes fall as time stands still, while sun's warmth trembles under the treacherous chill. Depths run thin as the ice grows, and blue meets white in the blue shallow. Everything covered perfectly in a blanket, one that is cold and doesn't need to fake it.

What Not To Do

Wave 982

I just contacted a lawn service to set up a free lawn care analysis. I sent a request for more information through the website, within 2 minutes I received a call from a customer representative. I explained my lawn situation and asked for a free lawn care analysis. He explained crab grass control and then the situation got sticky.

He immediately proceeded to set up a treatment plan for my yard which included 2 treatments this fall and 5-6 treatments for next year. I told him that I was not ready to make this decision. He completely ignored me and said I should give him a chance as I know the poor results of the fertilizer I've already tried. I explained that I would have to talk to my finance, and he said she would agree with the decision to set up a contract.

At that point I was completely turned off. This guy was really not listening to me, he was very unprofessional, pushy, and I couldn't stand talking to him anymore. I let him finish up the call because apparently I had no say, and then he transferred me to the account setup department. I told the next person my concerns, she listened and cancelled my service request.

This is exactly what not to do when trying to make a sale.

As a professional, I've had to learn ways of persuading owners to make difficult financial decisions when they are necessary. However, I am never pushy or make them do something they are uncomfortable with doing.

This was honestly one of the worst customer support experiences I have ever had. How can I expect to trust a company that does not listen to me or my concerns.

What have I learned from this? Listen first, comprehend, then talk.

This is really true. I hate it when salespeople are pushy, too.
I wish I had someone to recommend, but I really don’t know your best option.  Hopefully, you’ll find a good company, though!
