Confused
A ripple for every moment

Water smashed against a windshield, a hundred directions are revealed. Twisting and turning across the glass, drops moving about in varying mass. Liquid reproduction and honorable cooperation, to reach the outer limits of the crystal foundation. Disorder and a spontaneous design, convinces ambition to resign.

The Final Product

Closing time, every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end... Seems like an appropriate song to wrap up the home buying process updates, right?

My closing date was March 26th. Everything up to that point was undoubtfully rocky. The offer, the negotions, even the final walk-through.

I guess I would consider the final walk-through part of the closing. Maybe others would consider it part of the closing period prior to the closing day. Either way, a final walk-through should ALWAYS be performed. This is your chance to make sure everything is as it should be. Due to all the problems throughout the process, I elected to have my inspector back through. This way we could address the problem areas as well as areas that could not be inspected (for instance the roof).

It was good that we did, because on the roof we have a large patch of shingles that were falling off the roof. The mold issue was effectively resolved, the owners went above and beyond the call of duty here (employed a mold specialist, corrected attic ventilation, insulation contractors, etc). The electrical problems noted on the inspection for corrected.

The roof was a concern. Interestingly enough, it wasn't an easy negotiating point. Generally people do not go on the roof during a final walk-through, most people don't have inspectors go through again either. My realtor and I found a way to negotiate these concerns despite these facts, which I am truly grateful for.

So Friday, Kellie and I went together to Edina Reality Title. It was finally over.

Closing on a home with Edina Reality Title is almost like a celebration. They usher you in this room. Everyone is very friendly and congratulatory. You sit down in these comfy chairs. The table has an assortment of treats, candy, and ice cold pop/water. Souvenir pens even.

At this point I was content, in fact all my worries erased one by one with every signature on the papers.

30 minutes later, I'm told I'm finished. Then the realtors (mine and Sellers') interject about the roofing negotiations made just that morning. The closing people had no idea. They start scrambling, I could have cared less. I sat back, sipped my Sprite, and enjoyed my realtor's corny jokes.

And here goes the final reaction, in this house buying experiment...

The Closing Reaction

P.S. I just have to note. Throughout this entire process, Kellie was a God send. She was extremely supportive, especially on the days when everything felt so wrong. We found the house of our dreams and enjoy every day living together in it. Thank you honey :)
