Cold
A ripple for every moment

Frigid sky scattered here and there. Shadows watch mountains who are not easily scared. Snowflakes fall as time stands still, while sun's warmth trembles under the treacherous chill. Depths run thin as the ice grows, and blue meets white in the blue shallow. Everything covered perfectly in a blanket, one that is cold and doesn't need to fake it.

Another Year

Wave 929

Thursday

The 26th of February, 2009 at 10:49 AM

I've decided to stay yet another year at my apartment. My rent is only going to increase $44 monthly which makes it manageable. I understand the housing market is going to be at an all-time low this Summer, but I'm still trying to settle down here since moving in May 30th of last year. I'm not even completely unpacked. I remember back to the beginning of my residency here, where everything just felt so foreign. But now I can't think of any other place to spend my time. I guess that is what you call home

The car is in the shop again. Expecting ~$400 bill for a new front wheel bearing, I just received word that my "stabilizer link" is broken. Not knowing what this was, I was expecting a very high number for the estimate. To my ears' delight, $100 was heard. Unfortunately, I still have the wheel bearing issue which will become a necessary repair at any time.

Forest is getting big. I think his lack of exercise is contributing to his weight issues, as he is only fed <1/2 a cup on a daily basis. He has the classic "jungle pouch" going on.

I had my most stressful day of surgery this last Tuesday. 4 abdominal surgeries - 1 exploratory with gastrotomy (we removed paint chips from the stomach) and 3 spays. Each spay was also a dental. One dog needed 2 masses removed and a tear duct flush. Another needed 1 mass removed. I started at 8:30 AM and didn't leave surgery until 4:00 PM. It was a long day.

And that's it.
