Cold
A ripple for every moment

Frigid sky scattered here and there. Shadows watch mountains who are not easily scared. Snowflakes fall as time stands still, while sun's warmth trembles under the treacherous chill. Depths run thin as the ice grows, and blue meets white in the blue shallow. Everything covered perfectly in a blanket, one that is cold and doesn't need to fake it.

New Year - 2009

Wave 922

The 4th of January, 2009 at 05:56 PM

As this new year rolls into gear, I figured I better write down some New Year Resolutions. Otherwise, I probably won't write down any goals for the year. Living on my own this year, these resolutions may be quite different from years past.

  • Think, Decide, Buy. As Cake so perfectly put it, "How do you afford your Rock n' Roll lifestyle?" And the truth is, I can't. For the first time in my life I had a steady income source and it felt good. But as the year came to an end, the mounting credit card bills made me feel a little queasy. I will definitely be more careful as the new bills come through my door.
  • Exercise, exercise, exercise. I had a gym subscription for the entirity of 2008. I probably only went 10 times during the year, the last time maybe in April. Running came to a screeching halt when Fall did. Additionally, I received a Wii Fit for Christmas (Thanks Santa!) which elaborated my lack of exercise in a very attractive manner.
  • Strengthen my relationship with God. With all the stress of a career, living on my own, paying bills, and other stressful life events... I have found my relationship with God waxing and waning. If there is any constant in my life, I want it to be God no matter where He takes me. And to strengthen this relationship I plan to study His Word, pray more, and worship him with all my heart.

I figured I would keep the list short, as a long list is easily forgotten. Hopefully I can live the New Year with these resolutions in mind, as change can be difficult but wonderful at the same time. Wish me luck!
