Cold
A ripple for every moment

Frigid sky scattered here and there. Shadows watch mountains who are not easily scared. Snowflakes fall as time stands still, while sun's warmth trembles under the treacherous chill. Depths run thin as the ice grows, and blue meets white in the blue shallow. Everything covered perfectly in a blanket, one that is cold and doesn't need to fake it.

Running

Wave 910

Wednesday

The 14th of May, 2008 at 07:33 PM

One of my favorite pastimes is running. Over the past year, trying to keep up with it feels like chasing a rabbit at a racetrack. I never catch the rabbit and die trying. However, I'm slowly beginning to remember the reasons why I started running in the first place. It wasn't for speed, bragging rights, or t-shirts (sometimes it was for the t-shirts). I ran for pleasure.

Explaining the reasons for running can be difficult, especially when it can be so painful at times. I have encouraged a couple of my friends to try it. But, they could not see any rewards in the physical torture.

"How can run for pleasure if it is so painful?" It's a good question, with a simple answer. Love. You can either love running or hate it. And with love comes pain. I love running even if it brings me pain. In the end, the feeling I have after running is amazing. I feel like Rocky at the top of the steps in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. I feel like a champion. I feel like I'm on top of the world.

I hope you find something in your life that you love, even if it sometimes brings you pain. Once you find that something, the feelings it will give you will be indescribable. I promise.
