Cold
A ripple for every moment

Frigid sky scattered here and there. Shadows watch mountains who are not easily scared. Snowflakes fall as time stands still, while sun's warmth trembles under the treacherous chill. Depths run thin as the ice grows, and blue meets white in the blue shallow. Everything covered perfectly in a blanket, one that is cold and doesn't need to fake it.

Welcome 2008

Wave 893

Wednesday

The 2nd of January, 2008 at 09:09 PM

As the hour hand left the far edge of the number 11 and smacked the 12 across the face, a great amount of noise was being made all over the midwestern United States. I find it amazing that it is the only day where people actually lose sleep to celebrate a new set of numbers. In fact, I was one of those crazys. Standing with a party hat on, a noisemaker in my mouth, a noisemaker in one hand, and a glass of champagne in the other. Oddly enough, starting a new set of numbers just doesn't quite feel right without celebration. In short, I hope you had as much fun as I did on the birth of 2008.

As is custom for most everyone when a new year begins, resolutions are made. My list is rather short and simplistic. Anything longer would be difficult to complete, nonetheless follow.

  • Work out. In the past, I have had the capacity, the motivation, and the will to exercise at terrible lengths. I want to renew this desire to be everything I can be.
  • Be myself. I guess this resolution has sub-points... as it should. I believe I've lost the social flair I used to have. This mute point is so extreme that my girlfriend does not even recognize me in certain circumstances. I want to be as original as I am in every situation, with no hesistation. Along these same lines, I don't want to be someone that I'm not. Someone who is rude, insensitive, untrusting, or fake. I want to be the one and only me, that's all.
  • Find myself. This past year I've been shaping into the man I'm going to be for the rest of my life. This new year will be a true test of my character. I will be moving out, living on my own, and starting my dream career. This is most exciting and I'm looking forward to all these new adventures in my life.

I'm going to leave this post wide open. Feel free to comment here if you would like. What are some of your New Year's Resolutions? Anything interesting you care to share? Hope you all have a wonderful New Years and an awesome 2008.

It’s strange... because I don’t think you’ve changed at all ;-).

I like pie.

I am a member at Anytime Fitness, you can find me there everyday now.  If I’m not there on a day please kick me in the butt.  We can work out and it’s easy to find yourself because they have lots of mirrors.

I would work out with you Richard. Unfortunately, my health insurance does not cover Anytime Fitness and so my membership is on hold. It is a very nice center and yes, they have a lot of mirrors :)
