Cold
A ripple for every moment

Frigid sky scattered here and there. Shadows watch mountains who are not easily scared. Snowflakes fall as time stands still, while sun's warmth trembles under the treacherous chill. Depths run thin as the ice grows, and blue meets white in the blue shallow. Everything covered perfectly in a blanket, one that is cold and doesn't need to fake it.

Holiday Fun

Wave 892

Friday

The 28th of December, 2007 at 08:58 PM

I've been on vacation now for almost two weeks, and man does it feel good to take some time off. I've jotted down just a few things that have kept me busy the past couple weeks.

Great CatchIce Fishing. I always have to go once a year, and this year was spent just with my dad out on Forest Lake. We caught 6 Northerns, with the largest one being about 10#. It was a great day for fishing, and a great day to talk about life as well.

Pirate ShipHolidazzle and Nutcracker Animated Display. Kellie and I made our way to downtown Minneapolis late last week. So late that we arrived right when the parade started. We somehow found a parking spot, a bathroom, and a place on the street before missing anything. The parade was awesome as usual. The race to the top of Macy's to see the Nutcracker was equally fun. I felt the display this year was shorter but more detailed in years past.

Snowboarding and the Casino. I went Snowboarding during the big blizzard on Sunday. Brian, Janet, Kellie and I hit the hills of Welsch Village South of Red Wing. I fell a couple times which was to be expected on only my second time snowboarding. I felt I did extremely well, creating "S" turns here and there. The Casino was equally fun. We had a large buffet (thank you for buying my ticket honey) with great food followed by some stingy gambling. I ended up playing a game called Kaboom where it didn't appear I would lose any money. However, I was too afraid to lose what I already won, and left with an extra 50 dollars in my pocket.

In the midst of the flashing lights and sketchy gamblers, Keith (Kellie's brother) saw his first autobiography. He was virtually estatic. He screamed every few seconds as he flipped through the pages of his thoughts and feelings. The book is called Too Bad and has been 2 years in the making. Everyone is very proud of him and his accomplishments.

Christmas was spent in new surroundings with familiar people. Our family Christmas was over at Joe's new house. It was the most wonderful White Christmas as huge snowflakes fell outside the window which was immediately adjacent to the fireplace and the Christmas Tree. It was like we were watching something out of a movie.

Christmas 2007

And now this post slowly rolls out to a close. I hope to entertain everyone one last time before I begin rotations on Monday again. Have a wonderful evening everyone!
