Do Not Worry

Easier said than done. I worry on a daily basis. For example, the past week I've almost hit two pedestrians on the street. One was a bicyclist, who was not wearing the correct reflective clothing for the time of night. The other one happened to be an older gentleman not more than 30 minutes ago. I was backing up and he was walking in one of my blind spots. Once I saw him, I stopped immediately. He slowly made his way around the back of my car glaring at me the whole way. In both of these instances I never said I was sorry, in fact I was upset at the other person who had startled me whilst driving. I did feel sorry for almost hitting these people, but I could not mount the courage to say something after these stomach-twisting incidents. And I worry that I should've said something even though I did not, because I feel I am a better person than that. And even though I did not hurt these people, I am not a person who hurts someone without feeling truly sorry afterwards.
Genesis this week was about worrying. If you are looking for a short version, then here it is: Do not worry, because it's already taken care of. We spend too much of our time worrying about the past, the present and the future. When you desperately need something, do not worry about it because you will soon find it. God makes sure we have everything we need. As a famous quote goes, "Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his own life." (Luke 12:25)
It doesn't make it any easier knowing God is taking care of things, because I'm still down here admist all the world's troubles. But just knowing that someone else as great as God is watching out for me, I feel relieved and can rest.
