Cold
A ripple for every moment

Frigid sky scattered here and there. Shadows watch mountains who are not easily scared. Snowflakes fall as time stands still, while sun's warmth trembles under the treacherous chill. Depths run thin as the ice grows, and blue meets white in the blue shallow. Everything covered perfectly in a blanket, one that is cold and doesn't need to fake it.

Out of Control

Wave 846

Tuesday

The 24th of October, 2006 at 09:08 AM

The last few weeks life has been out of control. Everything is out of my control, and that is okay.

When are we ever truly in control? We aren't, we never were and never will be.

One of my neighbor's passed away a couple weeks ago. He was my age. He died very tragically, unusually, and very young. When something so cataclysmic happens, people are deeply hurt. Things like this can change perspective, feelings, and even beliefs. People lose faith and say that there is no God, because if there is how could He make life so terrible and tragic. How come He lets wars, violence, abuse, rape, disrespect, dishonor, adultery, deception and tragedies occur. How can a God so great let so much evil rule the Earth. How come He let this boy die, this boy who barely had a chance to live.

He was there, He was watching. Our God is not a God who gives you everything you want. There are going to be times when He does things that are terrible and times when he doesn't step in, but he does these things for a reason.

Remember when you had detention. You were doing something wrong and were supposed to learn a lesson. You may see it as punishment, but it was more of a chance for you to see what you did wrong and learn from it.

Sometimes God challenges us with these things to see the bigger picture. Most people interpret it as a lack of love when they really should be seeing it as a lesson. A lesson showing us that we aren't in control of our own lives. A lesson showing us to let go of our fascination with the world around us, because our time here is short, and our time in Heaven is forever.

If anything, something like this should strengthen your faith. Strengthen your relationship with family, with friends, with strangers, with God. Knowing that every moment should be cherished, and every goodbye honored. We don't know when our last day will be so we should live each day like it is our last, spreading the love of God to everyone who comes our way.
