Cold
A ripple for every moment

Frigid sky scattered here and there. Shadows watch mountains who are not easily scared. Snowflakes fall as time stands still, while sun's warmth trembles under the treacherous chill. Depths run thin as the ice grows, and blue meets white in the blue shallow. Everything covered perfectly in a blanket, one that is cold and doesn't need to fake it.

Reaching My Limits

Wave 838

Tuesday

The 3rd of October, 2006 at 08:14 AM

Physically and mentally, I'm reaching an upper bound. I have been extraordinarily tired lately. My future keeps peeking in, making sure I'm still thinking about it. Recent situations have provoked immense thought and worry about a future with inflexible details; things I had seen coming for quite some time, like a storm cloud off in the distance. School has been rigorous, keeping every free minute of my time occupied, while tests have been falling like rain and I've been running to find shelter.

My body suffers from even short runs these days. I haven't ran over 10 miles in months. Last night was my first attempt to break the glass ceiling. Instead of shattering it, my body smashed against it like a bug on a windshield. The effect was terrible. I spent almost 90 minutes on this run (10 of which I was walking to water sources) and I didn't even make it 10 miles. I feel like I'm racing with age, and I'm losing.

I'm going off subject to tackle something like a Minnesota Viking. Caribou, my favorite place to get away, has now added free WiFi to a few of their locations. Fortunately, they decided to tack up some new signs no more than a mile from my house. This was glorious, glorious. I walked into Caribou last night, my laptop charged and ready, it was going to be a night to remember. I booted up my internet browser, the Caribou logo came on the screen. Excited, I filled out all the fields and pushed the connect button. The internet popped up with another little window that took my breath away. This "free" internet, only lasts for one hour. After that you have to pay $1.50 for internet access. I was so infuriated I closed my internet browser and used Brugger's free WiFi instead. Take that Caribou!
