Cold
A ripple for every moment

Frigid sky scattered here and there. Shadows watch mountains who are not easily scared. Snowflakes fall as time stands still, while sun's warmth trembles under the treacherous chill. Depths run thin as the ice grows, and blue meets white in the blue shallow. Everything covered perfectly in a blanket, one that is cold and doesn't need to fake it.

When Is Enough... Enough?

Wave 813

I am strangely reminded of a Jennifer Lopez movie as I type this. The movie just crossed my mind, however there is no correlation with this post.

Let's start with a nice puzzle with a beautiful picture of the front. You don't know what that picture will be, but you can wish for one that you want and we'll go from there. Now, imagine that throughout your life you're trying to piece that puzzle together. You probably will start with the borders, piecing together a nice base for everything else to grow off of. Sometimes you will find a block of pieces to the puzzle that don't connect to anything, but you have them for the future. You put in your time, patience, and your love into this puzzle. It becomes the most sacred thing you own, you never want to lose it.

Now let's say you stop building for awhile, and you put the puzzle away in the closet. It collects dirt, dust, and maybe even pieces of other puzzles. When you pull it out years later you may be confused with what actually belongs in the puzzle. Why some older pieces don't look so familiar anymore, and why new ones that don't quite belong are floating around. Maybe you decide this isn't your puzzle, or decide it is too much work to fix everything. Maybe the picture you had in your mind wasn't the one the puzzle was shaping into. Maybe, it was a mistake.

I think people spend too much time trying to piece together the picture, than letting the pieces fall into place. Have you ever tried putting a puzzle together upside down? It's hard; it is more challenging because you don't get to see the end. Things just happen and the pieces just fit together. And when you are finally finished, you turn the puzzle over and it is beautiful. Nothing is out of place and everything is perfect.

This puzzle is different than any other puzzle. You didn't buy it in the store, you didn't know what it was going to look like. You just put it together with what felt right. And that, my friends, is something you should trust. Because you are given with a gift, something guiding each and every intricate piece into another one forming this beautiful picture. A picture depicting a life of happiness, family, and love.

There are going to be times when your puzzle is in danger. Times when it feels like everything is out to destroy it. But if you remembered how devoted you were how much you loved this puzzle, you would do anything to save it.

Don't throw away a good puzzle, especially one you put so much love into. I know it can be frustrating and the pieces a little worn on the edges, but they are there for a reason. Don't forget that you are in God's hands, and each piece was put there for a reason. Keep working on your perfect puzzle, you will never regret it.
