Cold
A ripple for every moment

Frigid sky scattered here and there. Shadows watch mountains who are not easily scared. Snowflakes fall as time stands still, while sun's warmth trembles under the treacherous chill. Depths run thin as the ice grows, and blue meets white in the blue shallow. Everything covered perfectly in a blanket, one that is cold and doesn't need to fake it.

A Breath of Fresh Air

Wave 806

Monday

The 8th of May, 2006 at 09:32 AM

Skirting along the edge of freshly cut grass on a familiar trail, everything smelled so good. The apple blossoms, the lilacs, the barbecues, the bon fires, the air. Summer was really in the air. And that feeling lasted what felt like seconds on a weekend where simplicity caught up with complexity. I never thought a weekend intended to be focused entirely on studying would be so stressful.

I guess there is really no good place to start. Friday I found out I had no school so I spent the majority of my morning at hudson road just hanging out with people. I felt discarded during my visit and felt it best to isolate myself from the world and everything. I left to go to caribou. My lackadaisical studying was only complemented by a soft drink strolling down the road outside a lonely window as I drank my first turtle mocha of the weekend. How stupid I thought.

The evening followed with an adventure into the unknown, Justin's new house. The night was young and the food was hot. We had a good time. I rounded off the evening collecting over $125 for an event called Bark in the Park. I thought you would like to hear that one last time Alex.

The event took place at two locations, Colby Lake being my destination of choice. I woke up early to find my party absent and my dog alone at work. I left to go pick Buddy up. When I arrived, I found out he was dirty and in need of a bath, I gave him one. I finally was on my way to the start line, rather late but better than never. I decided to call Melissa to tell her to park in a different parking lot. An awkward conversation ensued when a guy named Steve picked up her cell phone at her house. Not like it should've been awkward, but for some reason it was. I still get jealous like that. He seemed like a nice guy though.

As I was ending the phone conversation with him I saw her in my rearview mirror following me to the correct lot. We both arrived late and the walk had already began. We walked together for the event. We seemed to be the only people who were actually talking to great length amongst our group. I had a good time. I walked her back to her car and she left, she wasn't feeling good.

I took Buddy back to work and my brain home to my books. About an hour into studying I realized I forgot to turn in a take-home final. I sent a distressed email to one of my professors, I still haven't received a reply to. Not more than a few minutes after accepting the fact that I was incredibly stupid, I received a phone call from one of my friends who I was upset with. I told her why and an even more upsetting conversation followed for both of us. I lost my train of thought and my focus. I took it out on the screen door, slamming it so half of Highland Village could hear it. My parents didn't like that, at all.

In addition, I unsuccesfully applied suntan lotion to myself this lovely afternoon and I now have North America on my right side and Antartica under my belly button.

Sunday was spent laboring myself into cramming. I took a 2 hour basketball break, in which I won every game... I ended the day having two turtle mochas and having difficulty getting to sleep. I then woke up for the last written final of the semester. And now, I'm tired of typing. I apologize for the length.

Stressful it does seem.  Although, I would expect a weekend of studying to be stressful.  At least after this week finals will be over and you’ll have a while before school will stress you again.  That way we’ll have pleanty of time to watch movies and have you fall asleep while I detail the drama of my life to you, again... ;-)
