Cold
A ripple for every moment

Frigid sky scattered here and there. Shadows watch mountains who are not easily scared. Snowflakes fall as time stands still, while sun's warmth trembles under the treacherous chill. Depths run thin as the ice grows, and blue meets white in the blue shallow. Everything covered perfectly in a blanket, one that is cold and doesn't need to fake it.

Not Stopping

Wave 793

Saturday

The 1st of April, 2006 at 01:49 PM

I ran yesterday. I checked my archives and it appears the last time I ran was February 6th. Almost two months, two. I just felt like running yesterday. I probably shouldn't have gone for a run. After about a half a mile, I was going to give up. Everything was hurting, everything was telling me to stop.

But I kept going, I kept running. I crossed Valley Creek and disappeared down into Interlachen. I ran past the baseball field, into the misty shadows of Interlachen Woods. Yesterday there was a gentle rain, giving the air a mysterious afterthought. I crossed between the two ponds before the stretch along the half-frozen lake. I made my way off the trail into the residential streets, my body was warming up. I ran across the border of 19, keeping close to the houses as I went. I crossed back over Valley Creek and threw reflections across the windows of Valley Crossing. I ran through baseball fields and soccer fields. I ran back to the busyness of 19 and on towards the far entrance to Colby Lake. The lake slowly dethawing as I rounded it twice. I tested my stamina up the hill of Lake Road, past Middleton, past Lake Junior High. And up the short hill of pioneer, my mind didn't want to stop. My fingers frozen, my shoulder aching, my legs out of energy as I rounded the gentle curve. I graced the MSA parking lot, and there was Justin. I was done. I didn't feel like running anymore.

Something possessed me to run yesterday, something pushing my body to the limits. I just know, I felt good. I felt better, I felt relaxed.

Intense, from wanting to stop after a few mins to covering all of woodbury.  You are one wild and crazy guy!

Holy shit you went far.  What’s wrong with you?  That was like a gazillion miles.  Be more human.
