Cold
A ripple for every moment

Frigid sky scattered here and there. Shadows watch mountains who are not easily scared. Snowflakes fall as time stands still, while sun's warmth trembles under the treacherous chill. Depths run thin as the ice grows, and blue meets white in the blue shallow. Everything covered perfectly in a blanket, one that is cold and doesn't need to fake it.

The Principle of Calling

Wave 775

Saturday

The 18th of February, 2006 at 09:00 PM

I have reached one of those crossroads. Instead of evaluating and analyzing which way to go (which I don't do much of anymore), I've decided to sit. I went from completely proactive to passive. From running to sitting. I can't half figure out which I like better, but I know both are getting me nowhere.

This principle of calling, it is just ridiculous. I am going to make this really simple for everyone. A phone call is not just a ring from a piece of plastic. It is a person. So if you decide not to pick up, that's cool. There was probably a darn good reason. If that person leaves a mesage, listen to it. They wouldn't have left it if they didn't feel it was important. And call them back if they wanted you to, or at least let them know you got the message. That is the only considerate thing to do.

Lately, I've developed a disgust for phones. Not only does no one pick up, no one really calls back either. I could pick up my phone right now and call 5 different people I want to talk to... and I can promise you that at least 80% of them won't pick up. Then the ones I leave messages for don't listen to them or just ignore them altogether. Now I like to think they are all busy or just forget, but seriously, this happens every time.

Frankly, the whole concept of the phone makes me feel more lonely. I know people I hang out with who get calls all the time. Mine barely rings, if ever. You wouldn't believe how many nights I just sitting in my basement, waiting for a phone call.

As much as I love my phone, I hate it. From waiting for a call which was supposed to arrive to making a promised call with no answer... I've really had enough of it. The phone hurts.
