Cold
A ripple for every moment

Frigid sky scattered here and there. Shadows watch mountains who are not easily scared. Snowflakes fall as time stands still, while sun's warmth trembles under the treacherous chill. Depths run thin as the ice grows, and blue meets white in the blue shallow. Everything covered perfectly in a blanket, one that is cold and doesn't need to fake it.

Shopping for Happiness

Wave 756

The 7th of January, 2006 at 03:37 PM

You don't have to shop very far to find happiness, in fact you don't have to even spend money.

I went to the YMCA a couple nights ago. I wasn't feeling too hot and I just wanted to shoot some baskets. Noone was there; it was just me, a basketball hoop, and a ball.

I started shooting around and soon after, two little kids came in the gym. One kid, I was guessing like second or third grade, started shooting on the hoop I was shooting on. I watched him. He reminded me... of myself.

I was in second grade when I first got a basketball hoop; it was a gift for my first communion. Interesting gift but look what it has given me. All the games, all the laughter, all the fights, all the memories. :)

I watched this kid shoot from the free throw line imagining my childhood. It was a breath of fresh air. I took a couple shots. The kid retrieved my ball every shot. He had this huge grin on my face whenever he gave it back to me. I talked with him for a little bit. He said he was entering a free-throw competition. I told him he shot better than me, and he just smiled and shook his head. He made me feel good. He made me feel happy.

I went shopping this morning to return some clothes. I went by myself, but I was ok with that. I picked out a shirt I would have never bought a year or so ago. I also picked out a pair of jeans that caught my eye. I fell in love with the shirt I bought. It's a casual dress shirt, I can't explain how excited I am about it. Yes, I'm excited about a shirt. I have no life.

I went into the rest of Maplewood Mall in search of coffee, I found it at the caribou. I walked into the Games by James looking for Mad Gab. All sold out, I'm 0/2. I will find it and be the hero of the day (which is also a good metallica song and consequently was the reason why I started listening to them).

I made my way home listening to my new Scott Stapp cd. I am impressed with some of his songs, very impressed. I just feel good today. I feel like I know what I'm doing. Trust me.

You better be sorry! :-) Really now, we should hang out. We never do that anymore. You should call me up sometime and say, "John, I want to hang out." I would be like, "Ok, let’s do it. Hoah!"

Hoah? Is that like "hoo ah" like Al Pacino in The Scent of a Woman?

You’re right, we never do hang out anymore. Will give ya a jingle jangle in the near future. Have fun at school tomorrow ;)

Meh, fun... I will try Shayla, I will try. The thing I can’t understand, is the incomplete I have in one of my classes last fall. That is upsetting.

Oh and yes, that is like Al Pacino! Yes! HooAh!

John

Yeah. Like I faxed this form, and like, she said it was like ok. I was like alright. I like checked my grades and found out I had like all A’s and B’s... but with something like an incomplete. I like got really upset, and I was like, WHATEVER. I like told her about it and she apparently doesn’t like to respond. psh.

Um, well that’s kind of important. Psh.

Sorry, my attempt at being a Valley Girl failed :) I’m good at it though, ask Matt. I found out today that my record will be cleared of the incomplete. So me happy once again :) yay! We all scream for ice cream. Hoo Ah!

Alex screams for soup. Hoo ah.

I think Alex has Tourette’s Syndrome... think about it. Occasional outbursts with marked autism at times, and now screaming jibberish while eating soup. Interesting, isn’t it?

Hmm. Quite.
