Cold
A ripple for every moment

Frigid sky scattered here and there. Shadows watch mountains who are not easily scared. Snowflakes fall as time stands still, while sun's warmth trembles under the treacherous chill. Depths run thin as the ice grows, and blue meets white in the blue shallow. Everything covered perfectly in a blanket, one that is cold and doesn't need to fake it.

Halloween

Wave 722

Monday

The 31st of October, 2005 at 09:34 PM

October 31st marks the last day of this month, a month which has been a difficult one with a uplifting resolution. An interesting thing was said tonight. "In America, parents always tell their kids not to take candy from strangers. However, they devote one day of the year where they can go out and take as much as they can." True isn't it? I just thought it was interesting.

Tonight I went to Amber's birthday/Halloween party. I know I'm lame, but I dressed up like a doctor. I apparently made some very good "doctor" jokes. I more or less made a complete fool of myself tonight... but you know, that is the way I used to be. I think that means I'm back. I think that means I'm good. Actually, I know I am.

Quite a crazy way to end this month. The month didn't start off quite right. The girl whom I had been dating decided it wasn't working. My grandpa went into the hospital. I had to deal with my grandparent's lack of eating and depression. I shaved my goatee off and it brought so much joy to their faces, more joy than I had seen in months. No facial hair could replace that. I did what I could for a friend who felt she was being unfair. Every morning was a good deed, but she didn't realize it. I wasn't angry, I was just being a good person. I wish she would've realized that. I did something amazing for Halloween, you'll see below. And the website, although not important, had it's biggest month ever with 3,361 different people visiting. This was practically an eight-fold increase over prior months with an average of 166 people a day. Solely attributed to the artist page. That brings me here, tired after letting go at a friend's party. I feel good, I feel relaxed.

I'm a busy guy, but everything I do has purpose. I am happy with some of the things I've picked up. Tomorrow is going to bring a new month, a long month but a good month. My grandma has surgery this week but I'm optimistic. Keep her in your prayers!

Hope your Halloween was a blast. I didn't get drunk, but I didn't have to to have fun. Be safe. Be happy. Good night!

I rushed through the first two. The last one was a devotion to my grandparents. I thought I would do something nice for them.

Wow, great job John.  I see what you were doing in the time you should have been studying (;

Alex, I didn’t remove the skin. I took the picture found above and used Jasc PSP to edit it. I gray-scaled the image, traced the contour, and did a negative of it. I ended up with a very faint photo I could work with. I printed the image off in a landscape layout. I then spent a few hours penciling in the areas I felt needed to come out to depict the picture. The final product (my grandparents’ smiles) was more than worth the effort.
