Little of you may know that I've finally figured out my rather sketchy schedule this year. All the vet school issues and late classes are finally decided. I have decided to take 13 credits this year. This means I only have class on tuesday, wednesday and thursday. I have a four day weekend all of spring semester. Now, this doesn't mean I should slack off and party all night, but it does mean I can take it easy with my current load. Regardless, it feels good to wake up at noon on a week day during school session.
A little about my final class. It is an Avian Sampler. There are two boys, which includes me, in a class of like 25 girls. Most representative of what vet school will be like if I get in. It examines the relationships of birds and humans and goes into some physiology in the later part of the course. I thought it might be good for vet school so I'm sticking with it. It's a rather interesting course.
Due to the fact my weekends are going to be four days. I will tell about my first. It started last night. Alex came over, for the first time in awhile, to play some DDR (Dance Dance Revolution). Him and I both felt out of shape. We started with DDR Max and pounded out some of the old favorites. I eventually developed a side ache and went easier on myself. I picked standard mode with the arrows running reverse, boost and hidden arrows. I got A's on every song I played. After ending with my favorite song Insertion, we moved to DDR Max2. Any one who knows about DDR knows about the notorious song(s) most people can't beat. Last night was history making. All of a sudden I had this feeling in me, a feeling to play Max Unlimited. I moved it there and I said I'm going to beat this. I don't think Alex believed me, but he knew I was serious. The song started. I combo'ed nearly the entire first part of the song, about 180 steps or so. The slow parts came up.. giving me a break and I did rather well adapting. I timed the fast parts perfectly. I beat it. I beat a Max song. A goal I set way back last spring semester was to pass Max 300 with an A. I passed Max Unlimited with a C. It was truly remarkable, I don't know how I did it. I later played some doubles, something I don't do too much with my new pads because they are different from my old ones. Regardless, this made my week, my month even, maybe even my year.
Alex and I retired to Virtua fighter where we both obtained 1st Dan status with Kage. We both had our good matches and bad. One match Alex played, another character broke his leg three times. Once on a Somersault Kick. It was hilarious and awesome. We saved the replay. It was sweet.
After this we went to Gran Turismo 3. We played a series race. Came out on top and won a Ruff car Alex swears to be a Porsche. We started another series but Alex had to go home. I finished it off after he left and wow an Imprezza Touring Car.
I promptly went to bed after that. I was so tired when I was driving in the game I was falling asleep and only woke up when I hit something and the controller would vibrate.
Well, this was my thursday night. Quite different from the last. It's been a very long time since I was able to play video games a whole night. It felt nice. A nice depart from reality. As an added bonus, Alex and I were able to talk about life. I think video game nights will soon end because Alex needs to start up his spring semester. I will just have to do real work on my nights then.
I got 10 hours of sleep this morning. I went to bed at like 2:00. Today's lineup goes as follows. Do chores, practice clarinet, go to work, go home, shower, go to River Falls with Alex to hang out with Matt and Shayla, and play pool while we're down there. Good night if I don't talk to you all, and tschuss!
