Cold
A ripple for every moment

Frigid sky scattered here and there. Shadows watch mountains who are not easily scared. Snowflakes fall as time stands still, while sun's warmth trembles under the treacherous chill. Depths run thin as the ice grows, and blue meets white in the blue shallow. Everything covered perfectly in a blanket, one that is cold and doesn't need to fake it.

    Monday

The 26th of May, 2003 at 02:17 PM

Just got back... well sortof. Did just about everything on our almost annual memorial day weekend expedition. I will do a brief run through of what has happend the past couple days... and then I'm going to be off to work again on the house...

Friday: Sorry about the update here. It was a great day out and I overslept which meant much painting needed to get finished around the house. I woke up and went right to it and didn't have time to work with the site so the suprise wasn't not unveilable.. if that is a word. I packed and went to work with matt. After work I pissed some people off at work and left for home for things I forgot. To McDonald's to eat the dinner of champions then to the road for two straight hours of driving. Possibly the longest and furthest I've driven my car. It worked out great tho. Arrived at Izaty's resort in time for supper and greeted the relatives *uncle john, aunt suzy, cousin jack and my grandparents were also up there.* After a little conversation I was ready for bed, but some live band outside permitted quick slipping into sleep... whatever the case, the day seemed long and tiresome but ended with hope for relaxation over the weekend.

Saturday: Slept late. Ate some great breakfast da grams cooked up for me. I just moped around with my cousin jack until the "fishermen" got back. I proceeded with my cousin to take my first step into our boat we bought last year... first step meaning stepping into it when it was on water. Rides very nice. Don't know how good it would fare with tubing because it only goes about 35 mph tops... but I think it has potential if I ever wanted to convince my parents that it would be fun. Anyways, fishing in the afternoon proved to be nothing short of just getting sunburned. I didn't even get a bite. However, after we went back in for dinner and went out for the night, I caught the largest slot *in the size limits for a keeper* fish for the whole weekend. That was good fun. I also caught one that was too big, another slot fish and a small mouth bass, rock bass hybrid or something. Those frisky fish. Whatever the case. Night fishing is great, with the lighted bobbers and everything. And the sunset was to die for. Seriously... Then it was back home to tell the stories and watch a bit of the twins game and go to bed.
At bed I remembered... The nights in the past and the procedure I followed to make myself sleepy. We will not necessarily go over the whole procedure because back when I was possessed with my obessive compulsive behaviors *ie, opening closet doors, and ridicule arrangement of things of desk*. But way back before OCD I used to have my mom tuck me in and afterwards... if I didn't fall immediately asleep... I used this fantasy tv clip I created to make me fall asleep. It was the teenage mutant ninja turtles fighting their master.. the rat. Don't ask me why I rememered all this.. but I did, partly because that stupid band was playing again.... maybe I should check that .... out....

Sunday: brought new activities. Woke up late, which is nothing new, and went to church. At church saw friends of my g-ma and g-pa's, arlin and rosy. I really didn't get to talk to them much but as I was walking by arlin after communion he told me to put a smile on my face... i dont know why... he just did. We then went back to the resort and had another great breakfast served up by g-ma, my mom, and suzy. All good food, became very full. Afterwards, I brought out the ps2 I hadn't touched the past two days so Jack could play virtua fighter with me. Unfortunately he decided to go fishing instead. The three ppl that remained were my mom, suzy and my g-ma and they left shortly to go to the store... which left me all by myself. Not typically what I wanted for a good time. In addition I couldn't leave the room because I didn't have a key to lock up. So I was stuck in front of the tv with ps2. I decided to pull out the pad and bang away my problems on ddr. After they have thorougly been banged out, I retired to the disney channel to watch "Right on Track." I don't know why, but it was addicting to watch. It was a nice little movie to consume time. Soon everyone was back and this time I made sure Jack stayed. I must make note of my cousin Jack to simplify things. Ever since he was little he has had learning problems. He is a very nice kid. Graduated from highschool. He now works at a grocery store. He doesn't catch onto things too fast sometimes, ie. me pulling out the ps2 to have him play so he doesn't go fishing. But whatever the case, he likes to tag along and get in on any fun that is presented in his direction. He is a great cousin despite any differences we had growing up. Now away from my little aside, me and Jack went to the pool. First the outside one which proved to be too cold, then the inside which seemed to be just a big bath tub, and then later to the hot tub which was what... 108 degrees. Screw that, I rather set myself on fire and jump in a vat of gasoline. Ok, so it wasn't that bad, but it was hot. After the pool we took a nice, refreshing, cool walk back to our room. There we played some video games and then I watched the end of the movie I was watching earlier because it was playing back to back. Everyone ate dinner and then it was time for bed. Twins won again. Overall, the weekend ended quite nicely...

Then Monday rolled around... which is today. Woke up late once again... Ate a small breakfast and then I started gathering my things. The fishermen were out again and my mom waited for my dad to get back. When he did, we basically left and my dad got mad because I didn't help with the trailer. Now he is fuming that no one took the garbage to the clinic while he was gone... ie.. steve didn't. Anyways yeah. I followed my mom most the way, then she followed me because I got impatient with her slowness. At home I went right to work on the deck... and to think of it I should probably get out there and finish. I'm stripping the deck of all its previous stain so I can stain it again with a different color. It should look good. Anyways yeah. This is where I stand now. Some of the bad things that happend over this weekend are the following...

    1) Found out I missed jury duty. I may be guilty of a misdemeanor. I don't know. But that sucks. Yeah.. so now I have to serve on the 14th of July, when I will be out of town.
    2) The paint did not cover well on the house and I will have to put on another coat
    3) That's pretty much it.

And to conclude, I got more writing ideas on my weekend of relaxation. It should be next couple to pull me out of this rut. Also, I might be going to a fireworks demonstration tonight at Harriet Island. It was great last year... whatever the case... we'll see what happens. Anyways, I have to go, ttyl.. and yes this is probably my longest post. bye-bye.
