Dishwalla

The first time I heard Dishwalla, I wasn't very impressed. I was listening to their new cd at the time, Opaline. Everyone has heard Counting Blue Cars. I decided to get the rest of the album and see what I thought. As the tracks smoothly flowed from one to the next, my desire for more grew.
Dishwalla's Opaline became the broken record of my car for months. Drawn Out, Candleburn, Angels and Devils, Every Little Thing... they all became mainstream in my car. I knew every song by heart, every weighted word. JR Richards is the lead vocalist and there is something about his voice that catches you. You get caught up in every verse, waiting, yearning for the next one to be heard.
Dishwalla became the focus of all of the hard times. The songs were a perfect mirror of my feelings. I felt like they wrote the music just for me. It made them that much more special to me.
I first got into this band a long time ago, right when Opaline came out (April 2002). As I already stated, I waited for a new album to come out. Finally, almost three years later, they came out with a new one, Dishwalla. This album has to be the most beautifully put together compilation of music I've heard in some time. Even though certain songs do not stick out, the album is deep, dark and awesome. I recommend: Collide, Winter Sun, Far Away. However, if you really want to fall in love with this band, pick up Opaline. I promise, your heart will never stray.
