The Blue Shallow
A ripple for every moment

The Blue Shallow. Even though everything appears to be shallow and simple, there is so much more depth. The waters of life are more dark blue than anything. Nothing is transparent. There is so much more under the surface...

Cartel

Thank you Richard. When I once was on an active quest to find music, I happened to drop a message to Richard. He referred me to this band, Cartel.

Now Cartel hasn't been around very long. Their first album coming out in September of 2004, an EP following in November of 2004, and their latest album coming out last year in late September. In a little over a year they have brought their band to the forefront of modern punk rock.

What makes them so different? Good question, they sound and look like any other punk rock band. However, there is something about their music. The way the lyrics flow together and mold into messages about girls and life ... make Cartel difficult to forget.

I've been listening to many of their songs on repeat in my car. "If I Fail," "Matter of Time," "Save Us"... are some songs to look into. They will give you an idea of the tremendous amout of variation they are able to produce. Here is my recommendation today. Go to the store. Ask the Man for Cartel, the Chroma album.
